Country of Origin:
The Fawn Brittany Basset is a long-standing breed that descended from ancient scenthounds and was developed in France for hunting. In 1921, the first breed standard for the Fawn Brittany Basset was created and the popularity of these dogs has continued to increase over the years.
This breed is also known as the Basset Fauve de Bretagne.
Fawn Brittany Bassets are strong-willed and stubborn hounds. However, they also have a very calm disposition.
As stubborn hounds, Fawn Brittany Bassets require firm training. However, when well-trained, they make excellent hunters.
These dogs have a high activity level and require plenty of exercise.
Fawn Brittany Bassets are best suited for homes where they will have lots of open space and will receive regular, daily exercise. These dogs can either live indoors with their owners or outside in a dog run. Since they are stubborn and strong-willed, Fawn Brittany Bassets should be trained by an experienced handler. This breed requires regular grooming and attentive ear care.
